QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS
- PreferablyEngineer degree or relevant. If not, specialist training in mechanic/hydraulic(drilling) equipment
- Systematic familiarisation/Competence Assessment (s) for position
- Documented relevant practical experience from offshore/maritime operations,practice in hydraulics
- Fluent written/oral English and Norwegian language
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mechanic isresponsible for ensuring that maintenance work is carried out in accordancewith the company’s safety and quality policy, attending in particular to thehydraulic equipment on board. His or her main focus is on the “top-side”of the MODU
- Mechanicmust be able to carefully study all drawings and manuals relating to therig’s hydraulic systems and trouble shoot in these systems
- Mechanic isresponsible for notifying the Technical Section Leader, and/or RigSuperintendent if applicable, of any faults, defects and irregularitiesrelating to the mechanical/hydraulic systems and pertaining equipment
- Mechanic shallbe updated with the company’s quality assurance system and electronicmaintenance system and for ensuring compliance with these systems in day-to-dayoperations. Shall be familiar with processing maintenance- and repair jobs inPMS computer based system
- Mechanic should beaware of oil spills/oil leaks on the rig hydraulic systemsand report these immediately. Must be aware of the potentialconsequence of such oil spills
- Mechanic isresponsible for the completion of work permits before the commencement of anywork that requires such a permit and/or SJA
- Mechanicshall have a good understanding of the importance regarding hazards workingwith pressurized systems, have a good understanding of Odfjell barrierphilosophy and general safety focus
- Mechanic shallensure that there are sufficient tools and spare parts available at all timesfor the safe and proper performance of repairs and maintenance
- Mechanic shallassist the drilling section in carrying out other work as required and asagreed with the Technical Section Leader
- Mechanic isresponsible for ensuring that maintenance work is carried out in accordancewith the company’s safety and quality policy
- Mechanic isresponsible for ensuring that the Technical Section Leader/Rig Superintendentis updated at all times in relation to maintenance and repairs that may have animpact on progress in the drilling operation
- Mechanic hasco-responsibility for ensuring the availability of spare parts, tools andmaterials for repairs and maintenance
- Mechanic hasco-responsibility for planning for inspection routines
- Mechanicmust be able to contribute on FMEA and FMECA in his/her field of expertise
