50% reduction in yard stay time through maintenance management

Our Maintenance Management Group has specialised expertise of class societies such as DNV GL and rules and regulations. They work in close cooperation with our customers to reduce asset time-off rates.

We achieve this by:

  • Early definition of maintenance programmes
  • Early definition of long lead items when renewing class certificates
  • Close follow-up of critical vendors
  • Offshore approval of hull, structures and equipment
  • Building a strict plan for class activities while at the yard

We take great pride in our continuous class services, where we in close cooperation with our customers and the respective class society design a class programme for our customer’s assets. By focusing on intense planning preparation for extensive class approval of marine and drilling equipment while in operation, this process provides a 50% reduction in yard stay time. It also allows for full predictability regarding costs, time and quality.

  • Risk-based Inspection

Rig Inspection Services is our specialist Survey & Inspection unit based in Aberdeen, Scotland with strategically located branches worldwide. This unit’s offering spans from Rig Condition Surveys, traditional and advanced NDT services, to mechanical and electrical Derrick Services.

Rig Condition Surveys are performed by professional surveyors who can draw from our company’s experience of over 40 years of operating and maintaining mobile drilling units, in all environments, worldwide. Our surveyors and their support organisation bring together a unique breadth and depth of investigative knowledge from not only mobile drilling operations and maintenance, but also from new build projects, yard stay projects and classification projects. Such a wealth of in-house expertise in drilling, subsea, well control, propulsion and support systems allows us to produce accurate reports of great value to our clients.

Within NDT, our pool of experienced, qualified and trustworthy technicians provides a comprehensive rope access based inspection and certification service. This service covers annual routines such as Derrick Inspection, Dropped Object Prevention and Load path inspections, ranging from six and twelve monthly Lifting Equipment examinations and Drilling Equipment NDT, through to SPS and 5 Yearly Classification Inspection projects. Additional expertise within Hose Management and ATEX Inspections allows us to deliver work scopes individually, or as multi-disciplined campaigns.

Our Derrick Services capability covers a wide range of rope access-based mechanical trades to support offshore maintenance and engineering tasks throughout the drilling package. Covering all mechanical and electrical trades, and specialising particularly in non-crane assisted rigging and lifting, these services can be provided individually as rapid response downtime mitigation or as a planned and work-packed component of a yard stay, rig re-activation or decommissioning project.

Underpinning all of our services is our management’s passion to provide customer satisfaction by meeting client needs in a safe, professional and reliable manner.
