Odfjell Drilling has a corporate focus on continuous improvement through the principles of Integrated Operations (IO). We utilize modern IT technology to obtain safer and more efficient operations through improved work processes.
Odfjell Drilling has made a substantial effort in developing efficient management systems to enhance offshore – onshore collaboration for our drilling operations. Working together with the operators, Odfjell Drilling puts offshore hands-on experience to work, combining onshore engineering and planning skills in an integrated operations system.
In 2007, the StatoilHydro owned Snorre B was the first platform to utilize integrated operations in our Onshore Support Centres (OSC). Experienced offshore personnel are now working in the Onshore Support Centre, providing assistance and expertise to the operations.
Collaborative operations environments have a positive affect, not only on operational efficency but also on HSE performence. The interaction between human, technological and organizational factors are vital to the company’s success.
The OSC based operations model provides a collaborative environment which promotes:
- Transfer of administrative tasks onshore to allow offshore personnel to increase their operational focus
- Improved collaboration between onshore and offshore and with customers and suppliers
- Integrated operational and maintenance planning onshore
- Onshore troubleshooting and technical advise
- Onshore participation in audits and investigations
- Experience transfer between operations
- Broader competence more readily available
- Continuous onshore support by operational experienced personnel
