Deepsea Stavanger, the new sixth generation deepwater and harsh environment semisubmersible, is under construction in South Korea and due for delivery in 2010. The rig has signed a deepwater contract with Ophir Energy plc.
Odfjell Drilling and the Metrostar Group in the shape of Metro Exploration have entered a joint cooperation for the ownership of two state of the art ultra deep water drillships of Gusto design.
