Shell has awarded contracts for both Tool Rental and Casing & Tubing Running Servic es toOdfjell Well Services AS (OWS) as the primary provider. OWS is a subsidiary of Odfjell Drilling, a major drilling, engineering and well services contractor in the North Sea.
These call-off contracts cover the casing & tubing running services and rental activity for Shell within Europe. The operations will be performed in UK, The Netherlands, Ireland and Norway.
The firm contract length is four years, with further 2+2 optional years. Operations will gradually be taken over by OWS over the next months. Currently Shell has around eight operations ongoing, with an increasing activity level. OWS will supply casing & tubing running services and tool rental to all these operations, with an estimated contract value of 10M Euro per year.
The contracts require further strengthening of our organisation in Aberdeen, where both onshore and offshore personnel will be employed. A new base will also be set up in The Netherlands, in addition to the current bases in Denmark and Middle East.
