Increasing activity in the Middle East

Odfjell Drilling has received a Letter of Intent for the provision of a second jack up rig for Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO) for operation in the Arabian Gulf.

Odfjell Drilling has been working with Scorpion in marketing their jack-up "Offshore Intrepid" to Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO).

The contract has a duration of four years, commencing second quarter 2009.

The jack-up rig is being built by Keppel AmFels in Brownsville, Texas and is scheduled for delivery 24 of January 2009.
In October 2008 Odfjell Drilling also entered into a contract for the jack-up Offshore Freedom with KJO.
The oil company KJO is situated in the neutral zone between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and is operated by Saudi Aramco and Kuwait Natural Oil Company(KNOC).
