Odfjell Drilling recruits trainees

In August 2004 Norges Rederiforbund (The Norwegian Shipping Association) took an initiative to establish a Trainee-program for the national maritime industry. Together with 15 other companies Odfjell Drilling has participated in the program where two Trainees were selected among a large number of good candidates.

Frode S. Syslak - is working in the Finance Division. Frode is 25 years old and completed a Master Degree in Economy at NHH earlier this year

Terje Iversen in the Finance Division will be discipline leader and mentor for this trainee position.

Sveinung Hoff Helgetun - is working in the Maritime Division of ODT. Sveinung is 28 years old and completed a Master in Offshore Technology at Stavanger University earlier this year.

Sverre Hagenes in ODT will act as mentor for this trainee position.

The total Trainee-program will have a duration of two years, where Norges Rederiforbund will have the responsibility for 6 group seminars and arrangements for all trainees and the participating companies will be responsible for the practical and theoretical education of its own trainee(s).

The intention of the Trainee-program is to:

  • Educate key personnel for the Norwegian maritime industry
  • Strengthen the position of the maritime industry among students and the public
  • Build network among the trainees and strengthen the relations between the participating companies
