A brief summary is given below of the general duties and responsibilities that normally come under the respective positions.
Technical Section Leader
The Technical Section Leader has overall responsibility for ensuring that operations and all mechanical/ electrical maintenance, both corrective and preventive, are carried out in a safe and proper manner.
Technical Assistant
The Technical Assistant assists the Technical Section Leader in his tasks and carries out operational maintenance and repairs on the platform, its equipment and arrangements as instructed by the Technical Section Leader and/or Toolpusher and Offshore Installation Manager (OIM).
Engine Room Operator
The Engine Room Operator conducts inspections and service on machinery in the main engine room and carries out related daily maintenance.
Rig Mechanic
The Rig Mechanic carries out daily hydraulic/ pneumatic/ mechanical maintenance and repairs on all hydraulic equipment on board
Hydraulic Engineer
The Hydraulic Engineer carries out daily hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical maintenance and repairs on all the hydraulic equipment on board
Rig Electrician/ Instrument Technician
The Rig Electrician/ Instrument Technician carries out daily maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and instruments and pertaining electrical equipment on board
Subsea engineer
The Subsea Engineer carries out assignments as requested by the Toolpusher and reports to s ame. The Subsea Engineer carries out assembly/ disassembly work and operations and maintenance relating to the BOP system with pertaining control system.
Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor has overall responsibility for the safe and proper performance of all corrective and preventive mechanical/electrical maintenance. The Maintenance supervisor is responsible for all junior personnel within his department.
Welder
The Welder carries out welding and maintenance as instructed/directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Toolpusher.
