A brief summary is given below of the general duties and responsibilities that normally come under the respective positions

Offshore Installation Manager / Platform Manager
The Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) is the supreme authority on board and has overall responsibility for the stability and safety of the platform and all personnel. All section managers and persons in independent positions on board the platform will report to the OIM. The platform manager is the supreme manager on board and has the overall responsibility.

Stability Manager/ Safety Manager
The Stability Manager is responsible for the platform's stability, for ballast operations and for ensuring that stability calculations are performed daily. Must ensure that platform log etc. is kept in accordance with the applicable regulations. The Stability Manager is responsible for the safe and proper loading and offloading of supplies and equipment arriving on/ leaving the platform, and for ensuring that stability is taken into account when placing equipment

Control Room Operator
The Control Room Operator continuously monitors the platform's stability, drilling position, draught etc., and will assist with stability calculations. The Control Room Operator is responsible for daily operation and maintenance of the control room and pertaining functions, and shall keep a platform log of these activities.

Safety Manager
The Safety Manager is responsible for safety training on board and will, among other things, organise and participate in the organised health and safety service, firefighting, emergency response drills etc., and ensure that all new arrivals on board are instructed in safety and emergency response procedures and are informed about the relevant escape routes.
